My Rock Island 1911 CS Officer's model came with a plain Jane set of military style sights. I wanted a set of glow-in-the-dark sights, that also were more visible for my old eyes in daylight too. I also wanted an adjustable rear sight. Not wanting to void the warranty of my RI, by cutting dovetails in the factory slide, I bought a custom slide that had "Novak" dovetails. Having always wanted a set of good Novak sights anyway, I came to the real source for the real McCoy! As Novak points out on their website, people claim their sights are "Novak" style, but ARE NOT the same. That custom slide I bought was NOT cut properly for true Novak sights. The dovetails were cut too small, so I spent some time carefully making the slots bigger until my new true Novak sights fit like they should. Man, I love these sights! They glow in the dark perfectly, and in daytime, that big orange dot on the front sight is easy for my 62 yr old eyes to see. I may have paid more for these sights than the cheap knockoffs out there, but I love these sights! Thanks Novak's!
